~犬の十戒・Dog's Ten Commandments~

1, My life is likely to last ten to fifteen years.  Any separation from you will painful for me.  Remember that before you buy for me.

私の一生は１０年から１５年ほどしかありません。　だから、少しの間でもあなたと離れる事は辛いのです。私を飼う前に、どうかその事を考えてください。

2, Give me time to understand what you want of me.

あなたが何を望んでいるか理解するまで、時間をください。

3, Place your trust in me- it's crucial to my Well- being.

私を信じてください。それが私にはとても大事な事なのです。

4, Don't be angry at me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your entertainment and your friends. I have only you.

長く怒ったり、罰として閉じ込めないでください。　あなたには仕事や楽しみ、友達がいますが、私にはあなたしかいないのです。

5, Talk to me sometimes. Even if I don't understand your words, I understand your voice when it's speaking to me.

時々話しかけてください。　あなたの言葉がわからなくても、私はあなたの声を理解できます。

6, Be a ware that however you treat me. I'll never forget it.

私はあなたがどのように私を世話してくれていたか、絶対に忘れません。

7, Remember befor you hit me that I have teeth that could easily crush the bones of your hand but that I choose not to bite you.

私に手を上げる前に思い出してください。私には、簡単にあなたの手を噛み砕く歯があることを。それでも、私はあなたを噛まないと言う事を。

8, Before you scold me for being uncooperative, obstinate or lazy, ask yourself if something might be bothering me.  Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, or I've been out in the sun too long or my heart is getting old and weak.

私の事を「言う事を聞かない」　「頑固者」　「怠け者」と叱る前に、どこか悪いのでは？と考えてください。ご飯があってないのかな？日に当たりすぎたのかな？歳をとって心臓が弱くなり始めたのかな？と。

9, Take care of me when I get old. you, too,will grow old.

歳をとっても私を世話してください。あなただって同じように歳をとっていくのですから。

10, Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say, I can't bear to watch it or Let it happen in my absence.  Everything is easier for me if you are there. Remember, I love you.

私が旅立つ時が来たら、傍に居てください。「見てるのが辛い」とか「私の見ていない時に逝って欲しい」なんて絶対に言わないでください。あなたが傍に居るだけで、私にはどんな事も楽になるのです。忘れないでください。私はあなたを愛しているという事を・・・・・。
